Coos Bay Man Indicted for Allegedly Pointing Gun at Protesters

A grand jury has returned a secret indictment against a Coos Bay Man who allegedly pointed a gun at protestors in June. 36-year-old Brandon Dean Moore was arrested by Coos Bay Police after allegedly pointing a gun from his truck at protesters near an intersection on Broadway in downtown Coos Bay. The indictment charges Moore with Unlawful use of a weapon, a Class C Felony. It also included misdemeanor charges of menacing and 2nd degree Disorderly Conduct. Moore was released on his own recognizance. However, he is not allowed to possess firearms or have contact with the victim. Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier said his office had also asked the jury to consider charging Moore with a Bias Crime. But, after hearing evidence the Grand Jury declined. The next court proceeding is August 24th in Coos County Circuit Court.
