Coos County COVID Cases Continue To Increase

Coos County has seen another uptick in COVID-19 cases since the last release from Coos Health and Wellness. The number of Confirmed and Presumptive cases increased to 69 over the weekend according to the Oregon Health Authority. Coos Health and Wellness Dr. Eric Gleason says two of the confirmed cases added since Friday were on the presumptive watch lists from two workplace outbreaks. Those were Rye Tree Services and Avamere. Gleason was not able to say whether the additional presumptive and confirmed cases were associated with those already being watched or if they were new. CHW does not list how many cases are active and which are recovered. However, 25 of the original cases came from a state prison. Corrections officials say those inmate cases have resolved.
