Coos County Power Outages

The power went out for about 5-thousand people in Coos County yesterday, during a strong winter storm and high winds that hit the Northwest. In total, over 50,000 people experienced power outages from the northern Willamette Valley to Crescent City. Over 2-thousand people reported without power in the Myrtle Point area. Over 11-thousand people in Grants pass were affected. Roseburg reported that about 55-hundred people lost their electricity. Pacific Power had crews working non-stop to restore power and clear the lines from debris and fallen tress that had been downed by the strong winds. At it’s peak, after the storm, as many as 74-thousand customers were without power, due to over 2-thousand individual outages.
