Creswell Man Dead After Vehicle Left Roadway into the Coos River

A Creswell Man is found deceased after his vehicle left the roadway into the Coos River. The Oregon State Police responded to a report of a pick-up in the Coos River, yesterday around 10:30. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was travelling east on Highway 241 when it drifted off the road and down the steep embankments for unknown reasons. The vehicle was found in 8 feet of water completely submerged. Witnesses observed the vehicle and attempted to rescue the occupant unsuccessfully. With the assistance of multiple agencies, the driver was recovered from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 66-year-old Kenneth Glen Nailon of Creswell. The Coos County Medical Examiner’s office is investigating the cause of death.
