CROWD PACKS JORDAN COVE FILL/REMOVAL PERMIT HEARING IN NORTH BEND


The Division of State Lands continues its series of public hearings tonight in North Bend taking public comments on a removal-fill permit application for the Jordan Cove Energy Project. The application covers the three main elements of the project. Those are the liquefied natural gas slip and access channel, LNG terminal and the natural gas pipeline.  Standing room only crowds in two separate rooms at are giving testimony in favor of and against the project.  A separate meeting of people opposed to the project is also taking place in an upstairs meeting room at the Mill Casino Hotel. The series of hearings wraps up tomorrow in Salem.  Public Comments will be taken through February 3rd.  They can be emailed to jordancove@dsl.state.or.us or they can be uploaded via a web form on the DSL Website at www.lands.dsl.state.or.us
