Former Bandon Official Convicted of Official Misconduct


A former wastewater treatment supervisor for the City of Bandon has been sentenced to 10 days in jail after being convicted of first-degree Official Misconduct. In addition, 60-year-old William Nielson received one year of probation and was ordered to pay a $2500 dollar fine.  The charges stemmed from an investigation by Bandon and Oregon State Police into alleged thefts from the City of Bandon. Nielson was charged with multiple counts in September. He was convicted December 5th. Nielson will receive credit for time served.
