Free Gardening Seminar In Coquille

The Coquille Valley Seed Library is hosting a FREE garden seminar on Thursday, February 13th, 6pm at the Owen Building, 201 North Adams Street, Coquille. “History of organic agriculture in the Coquille Valley” will be presented by Roland Ransdell, Coos County organic gardener for 44 years.

He was co-founder of Oregon Tilth, a certifying organization which ensures organic food integrity, and he was formerly Executive Director of the South Coast Organic Grower’s Association. The roundtable topic is “gardening in February” (seed starting, cloching, etc.), and the plant of the month is Brassicas. Anyone interested in gardening, seed saving, biodiversity, and/or organic growing methods the seed library is for you! They invite you to help grow and preserve locally adapted vegetable and herb varieties by becoming a Coquille Valley Seed Library member. For more information:
