The Film Noir series at the Coos Bay Library continues on Sunday, May 21st at 4pm. A complex mystery, Orson Welle’s “The Lady from Shanghai” is this month’s feature.

Michael O’Hara hires on as a crew member of Arthur Bannister’s yacht. They pick up Grisby, Bannister’s law partner. Bannister has a wife, Rosalie, who seems to like Michael better than she likes her husband. After they dock, Michael goes with Grisby’s plan to fake his (Grisby’s) murder so he can disappear. He wants the money Grisby has offered so he can run off with Rosalie. But Grisby turns up murdered and Michael gets blamed. Somebody set him up. (courtesy of imdb)
