Getting Inked For South Coast Food Share

Flying Chicken Tattoo

Those facing hunger on the South coast will get a little extra help in August thanks to a local tattoo artist with a big heart. On August 11th, from 10am – 6pm, Flying Chicken Tattoo will be hosting a special food drive – offering free tattoos to anyone who donates $50 worth of nonperishable food items for the South Coast Food Share!

The drive will take place at the Flying Chicken Tattoo, at 2235 Broadway Avenue in North Bend. Bring in $50 worth of food donations, accompanied with a receipt, and get a free tattoo! A $50 cash or check donation to the South Coast Food Share will be accepted in lieu of a food donation. Tattoos given that day will be on a first come, first served basis; donors will choose from several tattoos pre-selected by Flying Chicken Tattoo. Donors may also choose a $50 voucher from Flying Chicken towards the use of any future tattoo.
Not interested in getting inked? Donors will also be able to choose a $50 gift certificate from Pokey’s Piercing, the Hair Company, or Always Young Skin Care. A limited quantity of $50 certificates will also be available from Lisa Reed for Mary Kay, Shake ‘N Burger, Kozy Kitchen, Alder Smokehouse, Cakes with Jaz, DRS Photography, Domino’s Pizza, Street Side Delights, D’s Scissors, and Serenity Therapy Center.
All non-perishable food donations must be accompanied with a receipt to be eligible for the tattoo or certificate. All food collected will be distributed to South Coast Food Share’s network of 28 partner agencies, throughout Coos and Curry Counties. Just $1 will help us move 7 pounds of food!
South Coast Food Share is a program of Oregon Coast Community Action, a non-profit network of programs that help feed, house, warm and educate the communities of the South Coast, and help families thrive.
