International Timberland Trust Sets Up Offices in North Bend

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon welcoming a company founded in 1926 to North Bend. Rayonier acquired 55-thousand acres of timberland formerly held by Menasha in Coos, Curry and Douglas Counties. Rayonier is a publicly-traded international timber real estate investment trust. They are headquartered out of Florida. The company was founded in Shelton Washington as Rainier Pulp and Paper Company. Today it is the second-largest timber trust with 2.7 million acres. The company employs five people in its North Bend location where it set up offices back in September.
