KCBS Donation To South Coast Food Share

South Coast Food Share, a program of Oregon Coast Community Action, expresses their gratitude to the Mill Casino, the Kansas City Barbeque Society, and all of those who attended, supported, and organized the Barbeque Blues and Brews on the Bay on May 23rd. Organizers are thankful to the KCBS and the Mill Casino for their generous food donation which will be distributed to hungry south coast families.

“We received over 500 pounds of cooked pork butts and an additional 40 pounds of cooked hotdogs, chili, and potato salad” said Laura Hunter-Schmitt, Operations Manager for South Coast Food Share. The food will be distributed to hungry families by SCFS through 28 partner agencies.

The donation is part of a national barbeque donation effort by KCBS to cook and distribute more than 100,000 meals throughout America over the next year. Special thanks to all award-winning barbeque teams that prepared the food and to all of the barbeque and blues enthusiasts who supported the event by attending.
