Lakeside Man Charged With Domestic Assault

Deputies with the Coos County Sheriff’s office along with workers from the Oregon Department of Human Services, responded to 2973 South Tenmile Lake–which can only be accessed by boat–to conduct a welfare check on the afternoon of November 17th. Information had been received that a 30-year-old female had reportedly been assaulted at the residence the previous night.

Based on the investigation, probable cause was developed that an assault had occurred on the female and was seen by her minor children. The suspect, 52-year-old Bryan Gooch was arrested for Fourth Degree Domestic Assault (this is a Felony charge).

On November 18th, the investigating Deputy listened to Gooch’s phone conversations recorded from the Coos County jail. In his conversation with another person, Gooch asked them to contact the female victim and get her to recant her statement. Based on the conversation, an additional charge was alleged for Tampering with a Witness. Gooch is in custody today.
