***Man Survives Jump From McCullough Bridge***

A Coos County man is in stable condition after eyewitnesses reported that he had jumped from the McCullough Bridge. North Bend Police say they received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen that he had witnessed an adult male, wearing a white t-shirt and Khaki pants jump off the bridge. Officers responded to the bridge and observed a man who had pulled himself up onto a piling at the water level. Officers continued to communicate with the man until medical personnel were able to get to him by boat. He was transferred from the fire department’s water rescue boat to a waiting ambulance and taken to Bay Area Hospital. The incident was reported about 10 o’clock this morning and shut down the bridge while the rescue was underway.
