MHS Esteemed Alumnus Dr. Gould To Be Honored

The Marshfield High School Heritage Hall Committee announces that on May 24th, it will be honoring 1963 esteemed alumnus, Dr. Rowan Gould for his successful career as the Deputy Director for the Interior Department’s Fish and Wildlife Service. Some of Dr. Gould’s accomplishments:
* Responsible for the operations of the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s 10,000 employee, $3 billion agency.

* Assistant Regional Director for Ecological Services and Fisheries in Alaska.

* Headed response team for the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill in 1989 and the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill in 2010.

* Received the Department of Interior Meritorious Service Award in 2009.

* Conferred the rank of Distinguished Executive by President Barack Obama in 2011.

* Received the Diversity Excellence Award from the Federal Asian Pacific American Council in 2013.
Dr. Gould will be introduced at the Scholarship Awards Assembly on the morning of the 24th and will be speaking to students from the Science National Honor Society and CERT programs in the afternoon. In the evening, he will be honored at a dinner in Heritage Hall and will speak to invited community members and students.
