Neglected Animals Being Cared for by CCSO

The Coos County Sheriff’s Office recently responded to a report of several neglected animals. 11 horses, 3 donkeys, 7 goats, 7 cats, 4 dogs, 18 pigs and 3 turkeys were collected and are currently being cared for by the Coos County Sheriff’s Posse. The animals have been seen by a Veterinarian and are currently being rehabilitated.

According to the CCSO, resources are limited and dwindling fast due to the large number of animals being cared for.  The Sheriff’s Posse and Coos County Animal Shelter are asking for assistance with the care of the animals and would appreciate any help that could be provided. Monetary donations can be made through PayPal by visiting: Material donations and volunteer hours can be coordinated through the Coos County Animal Control Office by calling 541-751-2480.

The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with legal council to determine the eligibility of adoption for the animals.  At this time, they are unable to adopt the animals to the public, but hope to find them Forever Homes in the near future.  If interested in adopting, please occasionally check with the Animal Shelter, who will be advised ASAP when adoption is possible.
