New Digital Signs in Coos Bay

New digital welcome signs have been installed at the Coos Bay Visitor Information Center.  The signs along Highway 101 will advertise information to motorists passing by. The City of Coos Bay is paying a little over half of the cost of the signs and installation which is estimated at around $52-thousand dollars.  The Visitor and Convention Bureau is replacing a smaller LED sign with a similar sign on the northbound highway side of the visitor center. The city council approved the funds for the new sign after learning the state would require replacement of the banner poles. That would have cost around $50-thousand.  The city will realize a $14-thousand dollars savings as well in labor costs that it took to hang and remove banners.
