No Containment of 300 Acre North Bank Lane Fire

Fire crews continue to work the North Bank Lane Fire near Bandon. The blaze that started in brush around 11:30 yesterday has now burned over 300 acres. Homes near the fire were reportedly evacuated as a precaution according to the Coos Forest Protective Association. Fire crews are working on securing fire lines and extinguishing hot spots. There is no word on containment at this time.  The agency reported they had several calls for fire throughout the day yesterday. Most that were found were extinguished within the hour. Others were found to be false. North Bank Lane runs between Highway 101 at Bandon and Highway 42 northwest of Coquille along the North Bank of the Coquille River. The road remains closed. Authorities ask that you avoid travel on North Bank Road. Fire crews and apparatus are working from the narrow road to put the fire out. They also ask that you avoid calling their office for updates.
