North Bend Hires New School Superintendent

The North Bend School District has hired a new Superintendent after an extensive search. Kevin Bogatin will join the District in July. Monday’s hiring follows a year-long, nationwide search after current Superintendent Bill Yester announced his retirement. The nationwide search resulted in 26 candidates applying for the position. After narrowing the field to three, candidates were brought in for interviews and meetings with various groups from the community and district.

Bogatin is the current Assistant Superintendent of the Corvallis School District. He has experience as a district leader, building administrator, and teacher. In addition, he holds positions on the Oregon Department of Education’s Task Force on the Instruction of Talented and Gifted Children and the Dispute Resolution Committee.
