North Bend Road Rage Incident “Person of Interest” Still Being Sought

A Person of Interest is still being sought after Sunday morning road rage incident in North Bend left one dead. Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier says they are still seeking a person of interest identified as 40-year-old Joshua James Thompson with a last known Coquille address. As of 2:00 o’clock this afternoon, Frasier says Thompson has not yet been located. 28-year-old Michael David Moore died in a North Bend neighborhood shortly before noon Sunday. Authorities say Moore had exited a truck he was in after it became disabled on a curb. According to witnesses, he confronted an occupant of a Chevy Tahoe. After walking away, the Tahoe allegedly struck him and ran into the home on Union Avenue in North Bend. Moore died of extensive crush-type injuries. The driver of the Tahoe reportedly left the scene in the vehicle that was abandoned a short distance later on Chester Street. A witness there reported the driver of the Tahoe left the scene after getting into a red Honda Prelude. Frasier confirmed in the initial press release and again after social media comments said it was a different make and model, the car they are trying to identify is a Honda Prelude. Anyone with information on Thomspon’s whereabouts or who may have more information about the incident or Prelude is asked to contact the North Bend Police Department. Authorities ask anyone who sees Thompson to call police and do not approach him.
