Northwest Natural Gas Customers Could See Rate Decrease

Customers of Northwest Natural Gas may see their rates decrease if the company is granted it’s request from the Oregon Public Utilities Commission. Northwest Natural filed the request to reduce customer costs by 8% and commercial customers would see a rate reduction of 9% under the plan. Officials say part of the reason for lower prices is the surge of new domestic gas supplies and higher temperatures during the winter. Even though the company expects operating costs to increase, customers bills will likely remain flat or slightly lower this winter.
