Notice of Intent to Appeal Coos Bay Ordinance 521 Filed

The City of Coos Bay has received notice that The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians have filed a Notice to Appeal the Coos Bay City Council Ordinance 521 decision that was made on January 7th. The Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Estuary Management Plan was voted 4 to 3 to approve the land use planning application that would change the designation of a 3.3-acre Natural Aquatic area in the bay to a less restrictive designation. That would allow the area to be dredged to soften a turn for ships accessing the channel. The notice of Intent to Appeal was filed on January 25th.
