NWS: Sneaker Waves Possible Through Tonight

The National Weather Service reports there is the potential for sneaker waves along the Southern Oregon coast for December 26th, in the afternoon and through the night. This is being caused by long period ocean swelling. Sneaker waves can result in sudden beach inundation and strong unexpected rip currents. The NWS urges all beach-goers to be careful and never turn your back on the ocean. Areas affected include the South Central Oregon coast and Curry County coast: cities of Coos Bay, North Bend, Reedsport, Port Orford, Coquille, Brookings, Harbor and Gold Beach.
