NWS Warning Fast Moving Waves

NWS WARNING: High-energy fast-moving waves are now moving onshore. West swell of 10 to 12 feet will produce average breaking waves of 16 to 18 feet along the coast with infrequent but powerful waves up to 25 feet. The swell will subside by Sunday evening.

People along the coast should exercise extra caution. Swells of this type can produce sneaker waves…which can rapidly run up beaches. Jetties and exposed rocks that seem safe to walk on can suddenly become washed over by these powerful waves.

Remember to stay far back from the surf and away from logs or debris. Never turn your back to the water.
