OCMF Brown Bag Lunches At Library

The Coos Bay Library invites the community to “Learn, Lunch,
Listen” during the week of July 22nd–26th. In collaboration with the Oregon Coast Music Festival, the library is hosting a series of brown bag lunch programs. The programs are scheduled from Noon-–1pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, to coincide with the following day’s performance. Oregon Coast Music Festival’s Associate Director Jason Klein will present lectures on some of this year’s selections and an insider’s look at how the orchestra functions. The featured talks are: Monday, July 22nd: Three B’s of Tuesday – Bernstein, Britten, & Brahms; Wednesday, July 24th: Mysteries Unraveled; Friday, July 26th: Fantasies, Real and Unreal. The Noon programs will be of interest to both festival ticket holders and non-ticket holders who would like to learn a more about classical music and the orchestra.

Dr. Klein is currently the Music Director of the Saratoga Symphony.
His entertaining introductions to the music add both historical and
human dimensions that delight both novice and knowledgeable audience
members. In addition to the Saratoga Symphony, Dr. Klein is also Music Director of the Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County and Associate Conductor of the Oregon Coast Music Festival.

This program is sponsored by the Coos Bay Library Foundation.
It is free and open to the public. For more information on the
