ODFW: Application Deadline Extended

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is searching for a new member to represent the Umpqua District on the Salmon and Trout Enhancement Program Advisory Committee. Individuals now have until August 23rd to apply. Oregonians who are involved with local fishing or STEP groups, have previous experience working with volunteers and/or in community service, or are involved in natural resource or angling education are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be able to travel at least four times per year.

The ideal candidate will be a resident of the Umpqua District, or Douglas County area, which includes the communities of Reedsport, Elkton, Yoncalla, Sutherlin, Roseburg, Canyonville and Myrtle Creek. This area includes the entire Umpqua Basin from Diamond Lake in the Cascades west to the coast at Reedsport. Major stream basins include Cow and Calapooya Creek, and the North Fork, South Fork and mainstem Umpqua rivers.

The successful candidate will serve a four-year term, with the possibility of re-appointment for a total term of eight years.
