ODF&W Closes Snake River To Spring Chinook Fishing

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced that Spring chinook fishing on the Snake River has closed. This closure occurred at sundown last night. According to an ODF&W press release, the closure comes as catch rates have fallen and the quality of the fish being caught has declined. Although catch rates have fallen off, ODF&W officials say it’s remarkable the public has been able to fish for salmon into August. This closure on the Snake River is concurrent with fishery closures ordered by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
