Pedestrian Struck in North Bend


A 70 year-old North Bend man was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Sherman Ave. (101) and Florida Street at 4:36PM Monday. The pedestrian had the crosswalk signal and was crossing when the driver, a 60 year-old North Bend man hit him in the intersection. The driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to Bay Area Hospital with serious injuries. The North Bend Police Department would like to remind drivers that these are the worst times of year for visibility. Early darkness and rainy conditions are cause for heightened alertness and more cautious driving. Pedestrians should wear bright and reflective clothing and exercise extra care in crossing streets during reduced visibility.
