Police Asking For Community Help In Burglary Case

The Coos County Sheriffs Office is asking for assistance from members of the community in solving a residential burglary that reportedly occurred on March 12th, off Highway 42 in the Coaledo area. The victim, an 89 year old woman, returned home from doing errands and discovered her home had been burglarized. There was a significant amount of damage to the residence and missing property.

Much of the missing property was Japanese family heirlooms consisting of a large collection of ceramic dolls, Japanese wall art and various traditional Japanese clothing items.

Police suspect that an unidentified adult white male and female are believed to have attempted to sell some of these items at local businesses. In addition to urging residents to lock and secure their properties when they are away, the Coos County Sheriffs office is asking anyone with information about this burglary or persons responsible to cal 541-396-7805.
