Preserving Food In Myrtle Point

The popular Gifts from the Kitchen Coos County Master Food Preservers workshop will be held Saturday, November 16th, from 10am to 2pm, in Myrtle Point.

Participants will see demonstrations of food gift ideas, as well as creative ways to package them. Making homemade vanilla, flavored butter and cream cheese, and herbs in a jar are on the agenda, as are making a fall wreath using coffee filters and sewing a grain sack into a tote bag. A make-and-take craft is planned, so each participant will go home with a delightful gift item. The class will be held at the OSU Extension Service, 631 Alder Street, in Myrtle Point. Cost is $15, which includes an extensive packet of ideas and recipes, and a light lunch will be served. Space is limited. Call 541-572-5263, extension 292 for information.
