Public Comment for Jordan Cove Energy Project Permit Open Through February 3rd

Public comments regarding the Jordan Cove Energy Project removal-fill permit application are now open. The Oregon Removal-Fill law requires projects that are planning on removing or filling materials in wetlands or waterways to obtain a permit from the Department of State Lands. The permit for the Jordan Cove Project is for three elements, the Liquefied Natural Gas Slip and access channel, the terminal and the Natural Gas Pipeline. The deadline for public review and comment is February 3rd. There will also be public hearings in Klamath Falls, Central Point, Canyonville, Salem, and on January 10th at the Mill Casino in North Bend. Comments if you are unable to attend the meeting can be submitted online, by email or by mail. All information and a complete application are available on the Department of State Lands website or at the Coos Bay Public Library.
