Public Invited To Safety Summit

Curry County invites the public to join the facilitator of the Public Safety Summit, Mr. Stephen Kent of the Results Group Ltd., on January 23rd at the Showcase Building of the Curry County Fairgrounds at 29392 Ellensburg Avenue in Gold Beach.

Public input on community concerns, ideas, and knowledge are essential as they move towards identifying possible solutions to long standing issues, such as “What are adequate levels of public safety in Oregon?” and “How do we fund public safety?”.

Commissioner David Itzen originated the concept and Commissioners David Brock Smith and Susan Brown endorsed the Public Safety Summit, which is also supported by the Oregon State Sheriffs Association and the Oregon District Attorneys Association. The facilitated event will begin at 8:30am on January 24th and will be an opportunity for county commissioners, sheriffs, district attorneys, counsels, judges and court officials, tribal representatives, legislators, and congressional representatives to begin shaping the future of public safety in Oregon and how the public safety system operates. The public is welcome to attend the summit but public participation and input will be limited to the Thursday, January 23rd event from 4pm to 6pm with the facilitator, Stephen Kent.
