SCFS Puts On Dance Workshops In Coos Bay

The South Coast Folk Society announces the South Coast Folk Dance
Festival, a day-long event celebrating dances from around the world. On Saturday, August 10th, dance teacher Loui Tucker of San
Jose, will instruct a morning workshop (9:30 to noon) with dances
from various countries, and an afternoon workshop (1:30 to 4:00)
focusing specifically on Israeli folk dances. In the evening,
Eugene-based Balkan band Kef will provide live music for more dancing
beginning at 7pm. A potluck lunch is planned at Noon, followed by
a Balkan singing workshop. Admission to workshops is $15 each; the
evening dance party admission is $15. Package deals are available.
All activities will take place at the Harding Learning Center
gymnasium at 755 South 7th Street in Coos Bay. The doors open at 9am.
