Shelter System Tent set up at Bay Area Hospital

A Shelter System tent has been set up in the parking lot near the Emergency Department at Bay Area Hospital. The tent was set up earlier than needed to prepare for a surge of patients needing care for COVID-19. Setting up early allows their operations department and incident command system to test their system and figure out the best and most effective way for patient care. According to Russell Johnston the Emergency Preparedness Coordination they may use the tent as a triage area as well if the hospital gets a surge of patients. The tent is not for drive through testing but will be designated for patient care when the need arises.
