Small Fire Investigated at the Former McAuley Hospital


Coos Bay Fire Department was called to investigate smoke coming from the former McAuley Hospital this morning. A neighbor reportedly saw light smoke coming from the vacant building around 10am. Fire crews responded with 2 engines, a ladder truck and 14 personnel. Crews discovered a fire in a board located in a small entryway. It was extinguished immediately and crews were back in service shortly before noon. The fire remains under investigation.
