Three Coos Bay Men Arrested After Burglary

The Coos County Sheriffs Office took a report of a theft of a motor vehicle on March 3rd. The victim identified 30-year-old William Anthony Postlethwait of Coos Bay as the suspect that allegedly stole his vehicle. Later that afternoon Coos County Sheriff’s were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence at Welch Road, Coos Bay. A neighbor was reporting a burglary at a residence across the street from hers. Postlethwait was reported as one of the suspects in the burglary with 31-year-old Beau Thomas Stemen, also of Coos Bay.

Based on the description of the previously stolen vehicle, members of the Confederated Tribal Police located the vehicle on Cape Arago Highway and stopped the car. During the investigation, a firearm reported stolen from Coos Bay was located inside of the vehicle. Postlethwait was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Controlled Substance. 31-year-old Beau Thomas Stemen, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm and First Degree Theft Receiving. 25-year-old Steven Patrick Miller was also taken into custody for a probation violation. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the vehicle was returned to them. The burglary is still under investigation.
