Three Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101


A three-vehicle crash occurred yesterday afternoon near Colina Lane. The investigation revealed that a service van operated by 41-year-old Jeris Doyle of Coos Bay was stationary in the northbound lane waiting for traffic to clear to turn left when a GMC pick up operated by 20-year-old Zachary Story of Coos Bay struck the back of the van and lost control and hit a Jeep Cherokee operated by 35-year-old Robert Storie of North Bend. Doyle and Robert Storie were transported to Bay Area Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Zachary Story was transported to Bay Area Hospital and then transported by air ambulance to OHSU for serious injuries.
