Town Hall Meetings To Review Wind Turbine Project

A developer of deep-sea wind power will be hosting town hall meetings on Wednesday, May 22nd, providing information about renewable energy. Principle Power will host the two meetings to introduce the proposed ‘Wind Float Pacific Demonstration Project’. Principle Power has received a $4 million award from the Department of Energy to begin initial project permitting for installation of five semi-submersible floating foundations. The foundations will be outfitted with direct-drive offshore wind turbines, about 15 miles off Coos Bay.

The first meeting will be Wednesday afternoon at the Charleston RV Park Recreation room on Kingfisher Road, starting at 2pm. The second meeting will be Wednesday night at the North Bend Library starting at 6pm.
