***Two Killed in 101 Crash at Hauser***

Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in a Motor Vehicle Accident north of North Bend this morning.  A pick up driven by 36-year-old Jesse Praus of North Bend reportedly crossed the center line and crashed into a Ford CMAX driven by 58-year-old Susan Dixon of North Bend.  Dixon, and a 10-year-old North Bay Elementary Student from from Praus pick up, were pronounced dead at the scene.  Jesse Praus and a 7-year-old from his vehicle were taken to Bay Area Hospital with serious injuries. An OSP Spokeswoman said the 7-year-old was transferred to a Portland hospital in critical but stable condition around 2:30 this afternoon. North Bend School District activated a crisis response team to help students and staff of North Bay Elementary School and the district deal with the effects of the tragedy.


Meanwhile, The South Coast Education Service District issued statement this afternoon following the fatal Motor Vehicle Accident that claimed the life of the ESD’s Speech Language Pathologist, Susan Dixon. ESC Director Tenneal Wetherell said Dixon had been employed since 2015 and served students and families throughout the North Bend School District. She added Dixon was an outspoken and passionate professional who dedicated her life to public service. The South Coast ESD’s Crisis Response Team has been activated and is offering counseling support to staff. They have also extended the service to staff and students throughout the district as they mourn the loss of the 10-year-old North Bay Elementary Student who also died in that accident.
