Two Women Died On Hwy 101 Sunday

Two women died Sunday morning when the van they were traveling in was struck by a flatbed trailer that fishtailed on Highway 101 about two miles north of Waldport.

Oregon State Police report that a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with an off-road vehicle was driven by 23-year-old Spencer K. Foley, from Toledo, was southbound on Highway 101 when the trailer began to fishtail side to side. The trailer disengaged from the pickup and entered the northbound lane where it collided into the driver side of a northbound Toyota Sienna van occupied by two women. Upon impact, the off road vehile came off the trailer and struck the van. The two adult women in the van were pronounced dead at the scene.
