Unemployment Rates For Coos / Curry Counties

Coos County total employment declined by 210 jobs in December. The report, from Worksource Oregon, shows that reductions in leisure and hospitality totaled 80 over the month. Construction employment fell by 20, while mining and logging employment dropped by 60, with published layoffs in the mining sector accounting for most of the decline. Government employment decreased by 40, food manufacturing fell by 30, with the delayed crab season pushing back processing activities into January. Coos County unemployment rate for December was 10.2%, while Curry County’s rate was 11.1%.
