Update: Pedestrian Hit Along Highway 101

A driver hit and killed a man walking along Highway 101. An update on the story regarding that fatal pedestrian crash: Oregon State Police investigated the accident that occurred along Highway 101 south of Waldport. According to OSP, at about 5:30am Friday morning, a PT Cruiser passenger car driven by 65-year-old Darrell Bean from Yachats, was northbound on Highway 101 when it struck a male pedestrian who was walking. The pedestrian, 51-year-old Matthew Peter Borgman, from Waldport, was pronounced dead at the scene. OSP is confirming where Borgman was positioned on the highway when he was struck. The highway was closed about 4 hours. This is an ongoing investigation.
