Washington Woman Killed In Crash South Of Florence

A 23-year-old woman from Washington was killed before the weekend south of Florence. Oregon State Police report that on September 27th at 8pm, a subcompact car driven by 23-year-old Brittany D. Alexander, from Custer, Washington, was traveling north on Highway 101, approximately 7 miles south of Florence, when for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck pulling a box trailer. Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup’s driver, 52-year-old Guillermo Luis Trujillo, from Happy Valley, was not injured. An adult female passenger and two children were also not injured. Two other children in the pickup were taken to Peace Harbor Hospital with minor injuries. OSP troopers from the Florence area are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. There is no indication alcohol was a contributing factor. The highway was blocked over two hours. This is an on-going investigation.
