Weather Update: Front Bringing Rain And Wind

A series of fronts will impact southern Oregon and northern
California from tonight through next week.

The first of these fronts will be moderately strong. Rain and high
elevation snow will develop tonight with the snow
level near 5500 feet. South winds will increase and rain will become moderate to heavy on Saturday as the front moves inland. Wind
gusts of 25 to 35 mph are expected at the coast, over the mountain
ridges and in the Shasta Valley. The strongest winds will occur at the coast Saturday morning and throughout Saturday afternoon and evening inland. Rain will be heaviest in Curry County Saturday afternoon with 1 to 3 inches possible.

A few light snow showers are possible down to 4000 feet late Saturday
night into early Sunday morning. South winds will be increasing
again on Sunday with gusty winds and rain at the coast.

The next few systems will be windier and wetter and could bring
high winds and high surf to the coast Sunday afternoon into Tuesday.
South winds may gust at 55 to 60 mph along the coast.
